The hunt continues

Connan followed the target. He stopped infront of a bridge. Now, the hunt would either turn into a lethal chase, or Connan would simply initiate a fight. But Tatsuya had demanded information... it simply depended on whether the target ran or not.

Buck stopped at the bridge, huffing and panting. He looked aound, not feeling very safe in the area. And he felt like he had been followed. So he moved his body and started to run across the bridge.

Connan snarled and gave chase. The bridge was much, much longer than it appeared from the start. As Connan ran, he noticed that he couldn't actually see where the bridge ended. This was only in the back of his mind, however, as all conscious thought was directed to the man less than 100 meters ahead of him. With a burst of speed, Connan halved the gap between them, but as he did, ran over the invisible 'halfway' mark of the bridge... and stopped. A wave of energy coursed through his veins - an unseeable, unidentifyable burning that began to change him. He dropped to the ground, blood careening upwards into his eyes. They closed of their own accord.

When they opened again a few seconds later, they were red.

Xur'tal walked back along the bridge, then at the halfway point, lay down as the plane shifted.

Connan opened his eyes, not entirely sure what had gone on. All he knew was the target was dead, and the task was completed. He had the information- he just had no idea of how he had gotten it.

These incidents were quite common, and they terrified him. He'd never mentioned them to anyone, least of all Tatsuya, lest people think he really was crazy. Swallowing hard, he picked himself up off the ground and walked back towards the mafia warehouse.
